Date night in the Poconos

Roman drove us up to the Poconos on Saturday and the weather was good to us! It was in the 50’s and usually in California, I’d be freezing and bundled up with layers of clothing but here in the East Coast, the 50’s are high and considered warm! Lol

My tour guide

The drive takes about 45 minutes but time flies whenever I’m with Roman and it only felt like 20 minutes, not even kidding! I was surprised with how fast we got there. He gave me a tour around town and showed me all the places he used to go when he worked up there. It’s a nice, quiet area! Almost every car we saw was either from Jersey or New York– definitely out of state.

East Stroudsburg

We drove around for a while and we were so close to Jersey! Only 5 minutes away from Jersey and about an hour from New York. One of the reasons why I love the location of where Roman lives is because of how close he is to everything! It’s a nice advantage when it comes to traveling or when we’re feeling spontaneous and up for an adventure!

For dinner, we decided to go for some Japanese food. We picked a Hibachi/sushi restaurant that was packed and when we were in the parking lot, we were already thinking that the wait time must be long. When we got inside, we realized the place was HUGE. It was two story and although it was full of people, we were still seated right away. We decided to just get the sushi table and not the hibachi but next time we come back, we are most definitely going for the hibachi.

Loved the interior design and the vibrant color

Bacon wrapped scallops

Fried rice, calamari, seaweed salad

Lobster roll + diced roll

We confess that we ordered a bit too much but we were hungry when we were ordering lol the rolls came out last and they were HUGE. The pictures does not show it but it’s about 2x bigger than the usual specialty rolls! We got overwhelmed and only ate the center and left out the rice haha but to say the least– everything was delicious. We were amazed with the quality of the food and we were talking about coming back in the near future!

It was a nice little date night and couldn’t thank Roman enough for planning a day for us to spend even more quality time together!

Hope you all enjoyed the weekend! Thanks for reading!

Oh wow, that looks like my type of restaurant, hibachi and sushi- yes please!!! Totally not surprised that Roman chose such a wonderful dining place for the two of you! I’m the same way when it comes to ordering (especially sushi) my eyes always want everything but when it actually comes to the table I completely forget how filling it is…on so many occasions do I just pick out whats in the middle and leave the rice lol And I’ve been soooo happy with these weather temperatures lately you’re so right, 50’s around here is like summer time for us 😉 I’m not sure if I asked you this before, but how far are you guys from Boston? I feel like we’re so close yet so far away because I know it takes some time to drive through NY….

Hahaha oh my gosh, I felt so weird just eating the middle part– like committing sin to the sushi but I’m glad to know you do it too and I’m not the only one lol! And Boston isn’t super far from us!! It’s about 4 hours. Not bad at all! Roman and I have been wanting to go to a Celtics game so we have to double date and plan for that for sure! 🙂

A Celtics game is a perfect reason to get out here! Andrew and I would definitely join you guys, they’re so fun to go to! We need to coordinate something. Or even a nice little Boston trip in the summer!!! Okay I’m getting too excited lol but a double date is definitely needed in our near future! xoxo

Have you heard about this insane weather in Cali?!?!? It’s been a mess! You got out just in time. Haha. The rain is NON stop! My friends in Ohio and Indiana have better weather than here.
Anyway, I seriously cannot get over how good all this food looks. That SUSHI!! I’ve been craving sushi and goodness gracious that just looks too good to be true. Also seaweed salad is one of my favorite things on planet earth. SO good. DJ would be drooling over the bacon wrapped scallops. It looks like such a perfect quaint little date! Ok I am so excited to be caught up on your life somewhat- but I can’t wait for your next post and am sad I’m at the end of them for now! **massive hugs** xo

So crazy. But I hope all is well especially with your new job coming up, so exciting!!!! Definitely keep us all posted on that!

      Sending lots of love!
