Life update from Roman

Hello fellow bloggers! It’s been a while since I have last posted and I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the final remaining days of summer! I can’t believe the summer is practically over! This summer of 2017 went by too fast. Way too fast. I wish I could hit the rewind button to enjoy some more warm days, but I am looking forward to the fall. Living in Pennsylvania, we are blessed to be able to see some of the best fall foliage in the country and Jesci and I will definitely be sharing that in some of our upcoming blog posts.

As for a life update:

Jesci and I just recently got back from New York City with my parents and we had a wonderful weekend getaway to remember. Being so close to the city (2 hour drive exactly), we have seen and spent a lot of time throughout the city, but there are still so many places that we haven’t experienced. We wanted to do something different for this short trip, so we decided to spend our whole New York City trip in SOHO.

Myself, Jesci, and my parents!

Jesci and I had to take that selfie 😂

My favorite part of the room! BREATHTAKING VIEW! The skyline view was remarkable at night. And yes, I did take a bubble bath 😂

We got to enjoy the beautiful weather and get a little sun

We had to stop in Little Italy for dinner! (Close walking distance from SOHO)

Dessert from Ferrara’s! Definitely a must visit while in NYC

We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend! Can’t wait to get back to New York City!

Christmas time in NYC

I’ve always dreamed of going to New York City around Christmas time and I was beyond ecstatic when Roman told me he had plans of taking me first weekend of December! We had an amazing time despite the chilly weather. Roman’s mom went with us too and it was a nice day trip spending quality time with the both of them!

On the bus!

We decided to take the bus instead of driving out to the city because we did not want to deal with looking for parking as well as paying a crazy amount of fee. We’re glad we took the bus because it was so easy. Literally got to the bus station around 7, boarded 10 minutes later and 2 and a half hours later, we were in NYC! It was my first time traveling via bus and I liked it lol Although, we actually almost missed it because we left the house pretty late. When we arrived, the tickets were sold out so we were put on a waiting list, however, a lady approached us and offered us her extra round trip tickets for half the price! God is so good because everything worked out. We like to consider that lady an angel because she helped us out and came in at the perfect time!

It was packed but not as bad as we thought it was going to be! We were able to work from one block to another with no problem. Roman did some shopping at Polo Ralph Lauren and he got some great deals. Afterwards, we walked to the Rockefeller Plaza to see the beautiful tree!

It was huge and the picture does not do justice of how beautiful it was especially with the lights. We did not stay in the area so we did not see it at night but I’m sure it’s just as beautiful–if not more!

Love all the details

About to do some more shopping in Macy’s!

We had lunch at the Trump Tower and the building was beautiful!! Security were on a whole different level and they were very strict but we were able to get inside with no problem and we came at a good time because it wasn’t too crowded inside!

$28 for a three-course meal?! That was a great price and the food were all so yummy!

After lunch, we made our way down to Central Park and had a nice carriage ride! It was a short 20 minute ride but it was lovely.

More selfies!

When our little tour was over, we headed down to St. Patrick’s Cathedral and unfortunately, because of the traffic and the struggle of finding our Uber driver, we missed the mass. However, we made it just in time during communion so we were happy we were able to at least receive communion! It was a BEAUTIFUL church and just being inside gave me a feeling like no other.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral Church

There were thousands of people and it was so nice seeing the church so full with people from all over the world loving on the same God, our heavenly Father!

Once church was done, we were walking down the street with the intention of getting our Uber to head down to Little Italy but one little dress boutique caught my attention and we went inside just to look inside. Since our cruise is next Monday, I was getting worried about finding the right dresses for the Captain’s dinner and other formal dinner nights that will be taking place on the ship. When we went inside the store, Roman’s mom and I were stunned when we saw all the beautiful evening gowns. I don’t have any photos from the shop but everything was so lovely and I was debating whether or not to get anything but Roman’s mom insisted I try on some dresses. After trying on a few, we were falling in love with all of them and she surprised me by buying me all the dresses! Not just the dresses, but she also bought me gold heels with an abundance of silver and gold jewelry to match! Isn’t she the sweetest?! My heart was touched and I am oh so grateful for her. I seriously loved every single thing. I no longer have to worry about formal nights on the ship anymore, I am all set!

After our spontaneous shopping, we headed down to Century 21 and Roman did some more shopping! We went to Little Italy shortly after and had some amaaazing Italian for dinner.

It was a nice restaurant called La Nonna’s and if you’re ever in the area of Little Italy, we highly recommend it!

We had dessert at the famous Ferrera’s and when we got inside, the line was so long! That’s how you know the place is really good.

At this time, it was around 10 pm and our bus to get back home departs at 11 pm. The line was so long but we decided to stay anyways and by the time we got done paying and getting our Uber driver, it was 10:40!! We got stuck in traffic, had to take detours, looking for where our bus was and dealing with the crowd.. we thought we were going to miss it but again, God is so good because we made the bus within a minute before it left! God had us encounter so many Angels who helped us find our way and make it possible for us to make it right on time.

Overall, we had an amazing time. Everything worked out for the best and God was looking out for us the entire trip! But that’s no surprise because God is with us all the time!
